To become more skilled at playing your class you need to do several things. The first thing is to be better at your own class and there is only one way of doing that - play it like you mean it. Log several raids until you know every spell that your class has available.
When you feel comfortable with your own class it is time to start learning! Boring but oh so usefull. Knowing your enemies tricks better than they do is key to winning. When faced with a Hunter that is familiar with all of your spells it gets down to whom can counter the other player best.
In raids you do well to know your class to the fullest but also what and why the other classes are doing what they are doing. Listening to your class leader and most of all asking your class leader questions is a favourable way of getting to know your class to the fullest.
Most important in raiding is communication and if you master that as a person you will quickly advance in your guild.
